School's (almost) out for the summer! But our work continues.

The grey days of Massachusetts winters are finally behind us and the lazy days of summer hold promise of beach days and outdoor adventures. It's hard to believe that another school year is wrapping up. A year that had highs and lows as we sent our children back to school still navigating the uncertainties of an ongoing pandemic. Although our kids will not be sitting in their school cafeteria for a few months, working to improve school lunches will my priority as we head into summer vacation.

My name is Beth Farrow and I recently joined the Massachusetts Healthy School Lunch Coalition in the role of Community Organizer. I am so excited to be part of this work and bring my passion for public health, nutrition, and education to the MHSLC! As a proud mom of two children attending public school in Massachusetts, I am witnessing first hand the nutritional short comings of school lunch menus in our schools. We MUST do better for all children by advocating for school lunches that nourish growing bodies and minds. I'm so glad you are here on this journey with me! Please feel free to contact me at beth@healthyschoollunch.org.
